Disposal
WEEE compliant disposal of surplus, redundant and waste IT equipment
Krome offer a security assured service for the disposal of surplus, redundant and waste IT equipment that meets all of the requirements of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Hazardous Waste Regulations.
We work with a specialist government contracted disposal partner, to allow us to take care of your disposal requirements; this service includes the secure destruction of your data.
Krome will provide all the necessary personnel, equipment and vehicles to load and transport the equipment safely and securely. We will collect any IT or office based electrical items irrespective of age, specification or condition.
Receipt processing and storage is undertaken at our secure warehouse and items are securely quarantined for an agreed period (usually 5 days), allowing clients a grace period before data destruction begins. If this grace period is not required, equipment assessment and data destruction will begin immediately.
Equipment is audited and bar-coded. Audit reports are created to include the date and location of the collection, the make, model, serial number and condition of the equipment, and the date of data destruction. These reports are returned to the end user along with certification of data destruction. Peripheral items e.g. keyboards and mice, are not normally accounted for on inventory.
Equipment is collected and assessed, then divided into two categories: fit for reuse or recycling. The WEEE directive regulations state that any equipment suitable for reuse must be refurbished and reused to minimise waste, such equipment is likely to be less than 3 years old. All other equipment that is assessed and deemed unsuitable to be reused is treated, and recycled in accordance to the WEEE directive regulations.
As part of our fulfilment deployment service Krome will deliver new hardware to desk or data centre; install the new equipment, take all packaging from site and remove your legacy hardware for secure disposal.
